Getting ready
What to have ready in a familiar layout
Tell us which way the flat faces and we will arrive knowing roughly where the light is. That removes the twenty minutes usually spent walking around looking for somewhere to work.
Clear a patch of floor near the main window or balcony door. That is where the session happens, not the nursery.
Bring the sentimental things — a wrap, a name plaque, jewellery. In a standard layout those objects are what make the photographs specific to your family rather than to your floor plan.

Is our flat big enough for a newborn session?
Almost certainly. We need one room with usable daylight for part of the session, not the run of the place, and we work around furniture rather than moving it.
Home or studio?
Either. Home means relatives who cannot travel are included and the baby stays in familiar surroundings; the studio gives controlled warmth and light. Both work.
What time of day is best at home?
Whenever your main window is getting soft light, which we can usually work out from which way the flat faces. Tell us and we will suggest a time.
