Photographer in Hadapsar, Pune

Almost nothing we photograph has one person deciding what it should be. There are two parents, or two families, or a committee — and they usually want slightly different things without having discussed it. That is worth sorting out before the day rather than during it.

The conversation nobody has

Everybody assumes they all want the same photographs. They rarely do.

Parents and grandparents want different things from a newborn session. Two families want different things from a wedding. A designer and a client want different photographs of the same room. None of them know it, because it never occurred to anybody that they might differ.

Discovered on the day, it resolves itself badly: whoever speaks up first gets their version, and somebody else is quietly disappointed when the photographs arrive.

Discovered a week earlier, it is almost always trivial. Most competing views turn out to be perfectly compatible once said out loud, and covering both costs a few minutes rather than a different session.

So we ask a question most photographers do not: what is each person hoping to come away with? Not one brief from whoever booked, but a rough sense of what everybody involved is picturing.

And where two views genuinely conflict, our position is straightforward — we shoot both. We will tell you honestly what each one will produce. We will not tell you which one your family should want, because that is not our call, and photographers who make it tend to deliver what they preferred rather than what was asked for.

The one thing worth agreeing in advance is who we deal with on the day. Requests from everybody are welcome and get collected at the start. Instructions arriving from four people mid-session mean considerably less gets photographed.

What we photograph

Grouped by how many people have a say

Every service below has a Hadapsar page of its own. The grouping is a rough one — a family session can have one decision-maker or fifteen.

One person decides

Bookings with a single decision-maker. Straightforward, and the only thing worth checking is whether anybody else is quietly expecting something different.

Two views to reconcile

A couple, two parents, an owner and an agent, a designer and a client. Usually compatible once said out loud — and where they are not, both get shot.

A whole committee

Two families, a society committee, or a business with an approval chain. What matters here is one consolidated brief and one person able to decide on the day.

Hadapsar and the areas around it

We photograph across Hadapsar — at home, at function venues, on location, and at the studio in Wadgaon Sheri when that is simply the easiest thing to agree on.

The neighbouring areas are the same short journey: Magarpatta City, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, Ghorpadi and Kharadi. We take bookings across the rest of Pune, and travel beyond it for weddings.

If the people involved want different things, tell us all of it rather than a compromise nobody actually wants. There is no fixed package: tell us what you need and you get a clear quote for that coverage.

When people want different things

Which is nearly always. Anything about a particular kind of session is on that service’s own page.

Our family cannot agree on what they want photographed.

That is the normal state of affairs rather than a problem. Most of the competing views turn out to be compatible once they are said out loud, and where they genuinely are not, we shoot both rather than deciding for you.

Will you tell us which approach is better?

We will tell you what each one will produce, honestly. We will not tell you which one your family should want — that is not our call, and photographers who make it tend to deliver what they preferred rather than what was asked for.

What if we only find out on the day?

Then it gets resolved by whoever speaks up first, and somebody is usually disappointed afterwards. A five-minute conversation a week earlier is the whole fix, which is why we ask what each person is hoping for rather than taking one brief.

Who should we nominate to deal with you?

One person, agreed before the session. Requests from everybody are welcome and are collected at the start; instructions arriving from four people during a session mean considerably less gets photographed.

Does shooting both versions cost more time?

Usually a few minutes rather than a different session. It is far cheaper than a second booking, and much cheaper than one person quietly wishing it had been done differently.

Which areas do you cover from here?

Hadapsar, Magarpatta City, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, Ghorpadi, Wadgaon Sheri and Kharadi are the closest, and we take bookings across the rest of Pune. The studio is in Wadgaon Sheri.

Tell us what each person wants

Not one brief from whoever booked. Where two views genuinely conflict we shoot both, and you decide afterwards which you prefer.
