Explore Baby Milestone PhotographyBaby sessions in Keshav Nagar, with a plain account of what happens — and of the things parents worry about that do not matter.
Things that do not matter
They worry about their baby crying, about not having the right clothes, about the state of the flat, and about whether an hour is long enough.
None of those are the things that decide whether a session works. The thing that decides it is the hour of day, and that is the one thing nobody worries about.
A baby photographed at their good hour is straightforward regardless of what they are wearing or what the room looks like. A baby photographed at the wrong hour is difficult regardless of preparation.
What you genuinely need: your baby at their reliably pleasant hour, a clear patch of floor near daylight, and a plain blanket.
What you can skip: matching outfits, themed props, a tidy flat, and any anxiety about crying. Babies cry during sessions constantly and it changes nothing.
If it helps, most of what looks effortless in a photograph was preceded by twenty minutes of a baby being thoroughly uninterested.
It is worth asking how many photographs a session produces, because people either expect far too many or far too few.
The honest answer is that you get a selected set rather than everything taken, because most of what is taken is a blink, a blur or a near-miss.
That is normal in every kind of photography and it is worth saying rather than leaving people to wonder what happened to the rest.
The other thing worth knowing is that a session can be paused for as long as needed.
Feeding, changing and settling are part of it rather than interruptions to it, and no session is planned so tightly that they cause a problem.
Parents who feel they are wasting our time by feeding their baby are the most common and least necessary anxiety in this whole list.
Getting ready
Your baby at their genuinely good hour. It matters more than everything else combined.
A clear patch of floor near the brightest window, and a plain blanket.
Enough time that nobody is watching the clock.
Planning it
Matching outfits and themed props. They date quickly and they are not what makes a photograph work.
Tidying beyond the corner we will use.
Worrying about crying. It happens in every session and it changes nothing.

How the session itself works is covered in full on the main baby photography page.
Many do, for part of it. It changes nothing — sessions are paced around the baby rather than a clock.
Something plain and comfortable that you already own.
The hour of day. It matters more than clothes, props or the state of the room combined.

Either. Tell us which appeals and we will explain the difference honestly.
Yes, and it needs more time rather than different technique.
Yes. Tell us who is coming.
Ask what happens if things do not go to plan, and what you can safely skip preparing. Those two get people further than anything else.
Please do. Seeing the space beforehand settles most of the uncertainty, and it is welcome rather than an imposition.
Then we will say so. Everything is quoted for the coverage you actually need rather than from a fixed list.
Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.
Tell us when your baby is reliably pleasant and stop worrying about the other things.
