Everyone here means to get a proper photograph taken while the grandparents are visiting. Most of the time the fortnight goes by and it does not happen.

Getting the date fixed while they are here
Book it for the first weekend of the visit, not a convenient point during it. Sessions left until later are the ones that lose out to everything else and the flight does not move.
Agree clothes as a group beforehand rather than on the morning. A loose palette, nothing bought specially, and nothing anyone has to be talked into wearing.
If older relatives are travelling, plan for them to be photographed early. Jet lag and a long journey are real, and the frames with them in are the reason the session exists.

What we ask when a visit is short
When they arrive and when they leave, before anything else. That window is the only real constraint and everything else is arranged inside it.
How many people, and how old the oldest are. Both change the running order and neither can be improvised on the day.
And whether the session is at home or at the studio. With visiting relatives, home is frequently the easier answer because nobody has to travel twice.

Our parents are visiting for two weeks. When should we book?
As soon as you have their dates, for early in the visit. Sessions left until the end of a trip are the ones that get lost to everything else.
Can you photograph at our flat rather than the studio?
Yes, and for older relatives it is often the better answer. We work with the rooms and light you have rather than rearranging the place.
Some of the family are elderly and cannot stand for long.
Say so when you book, not on the day. We photograph the seated arrangements first while everyone is fresh and build outward from there.
Which areas around Kharadi do you cover?
Kharadi, Wadgaon Sheri, Viman Nagar, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, Chandan Nagar and Kalyani Nagar are closest, and we shoot across Pune.

Can we include a video call with relatives who could not travel?
If you want that in the record, yes. It is increasingly how these families look, and there is no reason to pretend otherwise.
Can we include pets?
Yes, and tell us in advance. A dog changes the pace of a session and works better as a plan than a surprise.
What should everyone wear?
A loose palette rather than a uniform. Nothing matching, nothing bought specially.
How many people can be photographed together?
Tell us the number and we will plan for it. Large groups need space and someone keeping the order moving.
Can we do a short session?
Yes, and with visiting relatives we would recommend it. Forty minutes with everyone present beats a long session half the family drifts out of.
Can we do this at a park rather than at home?
Yes, late in the afternoon. Tell us how many people and we will suggest a time.
Do you photograph extended family groups?
Yes, and the combinations matter. Send the groupings you want and we will work through them properly.
