Somewhere you control
With a baby, a location you do not control is a location that can go wrong.
Sessions with small children need somewhere to feed, somewhere to change them, and the freedom to stop for twenty minutes without anybody minding.
A café or a hotel garden may be perfectly happy to have you photographed there and still be a poor place to spend an hour with an eight-month-old.
That is a separate question from permission and it is the one people forget to ask. Permission gets you through the door; practicality decides whether the session works.
Home and the studio both solve it completely, which is why most baby sessions end up in one or the other however appealing the location idea was.
Where an outdoor session is genuinely wanted, it is worth keeping short and treating the rest as a bonus.
There is a second practical reason home and the studio work better here, which is the amount of equipment involved.
Sessions with small children need somewhere to put things down, and a public or commercial space rarely offers that without being in somebody's way.
It is a small thing that shapes the session considerably, because a photographer negotiating space is a photographer not watching the child.
None of which rules out a short outdoor session — it simply argues for treating it as an addition rather than the whole booking.
A short outdoor session works best treated as fifteen minutes rather than an hour.
Small children are usually delighted by somewhere new for about that long, and the frames from those first minutes are the ones worth having.
Planned as a whole session it becomes a negotiation; planned as fifteen minutes it almost always works.

Clear a patch of floor near the brightest window if the session is at home.
Bring your baby at their reliably good hour rather than a convenient one.

Can we do this outdoors?
Yes, kept short. The practical question is where you would feed and change them, which is separate from permission.
Home or studio?
Either, and both remove the location problem entirely.
Which areas do you cover?
Koregaon Park, Mundhwa, Ghorpadi, Kalyani Nagar, Yerawada, Wadgaon Sheri and Viman Nagar.
Do you photograph twins?
Yes, and it needs more time rather than different technique.
Can a grandparent bring the baby?
Yes. Tell us who is coming.
What time of day is best?
Whenever your baby is reliably pleasant.
Can we bring a favourite blanket?
Please do. It makes the set specific to your family.
Will you tell us what to ask the venue?
Yes, and it is usually three or four questions. Tell us the kind of space and we will send them over so it can go in one message.
What if the venue wants something in writing?
Ask them what they need and we will provide it. Venues asking for something in advance is normal rather than a problem.
Can we use the studio instead?
For most sessions, yes, and it removes the permission question entirely. The studio is in Wadgaon Sheri.
How do we book?
Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.
Can you speak to the venue directly?
If it helps, yes. Usually it is quicker for you to ask since it is your booking, and we will send you exactly what to ask.
What if permission comes through late?
Tell us as soon as you know either way. A confirmed fallback means a late no changes the location rather than the date.
Do you photograph at the studio as well?
Yes, and for newborn, maternity, portrait and most product work it is usually the simpler option.
Can we see examples before booking?
Yes. Tell us what you have in mind and we will show you work that matches it rather than a general portfolio.
