When the window will not move
A newborn shoot is the one session that should always bend to the baby. A fixed departure takes that option away.
The usual answer to an unsettled baby is another day. When the only day is the one before someone flies out, that answer disappears, and everything has to be absorbed by the plan instead: a longer slot, fewer setups promised, and the frames that matter most taken first rather than saved for the end.
That ordering is the whole difference. If a session runs out of time, what survives is whatever was shot in the first hour, so the multi-generation frames and the ones with the visiting family go first — not the classic studio setups, which can be repeated another week if they have to be.
It is also worth being told about the constraint at booking rather than on the day. A session planned as immovable and a session planned as flexible are run differently from the first minute, and only one of them ends well when the baby has other ideas.

That means a longer slot, fewer setups promised, and the frames that matter most taken first. If a session runs short, what survives is whatever was shot in the first hour.
So the multi-generation frames and the ones with visiting family go first — not the classic studio setups, which can be repeated another week if they have to be.
It also means being honest about what a difficult morning produces. An unsettled newborn photographed truthfully is worth more than an hour chasing poses that were never coming.
It is also worth telling us if the fixed date is somebody else's rather than yours. A session timed around a grandparent's return flight has a different priority order from one timed around a parent's leave, and the frames that matter change accordingly.
Where the window is genuinely tight, we would rather promise three setups and deliver them than promise six and reach four.
That is not caution for its own sake. On a date with no second attempt, an honest plan is worth more than an ambitious one.
Getting ready
Pack the evening before rather than the morning of. On an immovable date the twenty minutes lost to a forgotten bag come straight out of the session.
Bring more feeds than the session should need, a full change, and anything sentimental you want in the frames. Nothing can be fetched later.
If relatives are only here for a few days, have them dressed and ready at the start. Those frames go first because they are the ones that cannot be retaken.
Planning it
Whether the date is genuinely fixed, because a session planned as immovable is run differently from the first minute.
What you would be sorriest not to have, so it is shot in the first half hour rather than saved for the end.
And who is travelling, since anything involving them happens while they are here.

How the session itself works is covered in full on the main newborn photography page.
Yes, and tell us at booking. We allow a longer slot, promise fewer setups and shoot the frames that matter most first, so that if time runs short you still have them.
We work with what we get and stop pretending otherwise. An honest set of an awake, unsettled newborn is worth more than an hour spent chasing poses that were never going to happen.
Yes, and those go first in the running order precisely because they are the frames that cannot be retaken later.
Lohegaon, Dhanori, Vishrantwadi, Tingre Nagar, Viman Nagar, Wadgaon Sheri and Kalyani Nagar are all close, and we take newborn bookings across Pune.
Yes, and tell us at booking. Longer slot, fewer promises, and the important frames first.
We work with what we get and stop pretending otherwise. An honest set beats a chased one.
Ask. Short notice is normal here and we would rather tell you what is open.
Either. Home means nothing to pack; the studio gives controlled warmth and light.
More than the photography needs, because feeding and settling take up most of it.
Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.
Confirmed in writing at booking rather than left open, which matters more when the date could not move.
Tell us at booking if it matters and we will prioritise a small set.
Yes, with travel agreed upfront before anything is booked.
Yes, and on a fixed date we would encourage it. A short conversation beforehand is what makes an immovable booking work.
We will tell you immediately rather than holding a tentative slot, so you have time to find an alternative.
Regularly. Ask rather than assuming it is too late — we would rather tell you honestly what is open.
The plan yes, the date rarely. Tell us what has changed and we will adapt the coverage around it.
Say so when you enquire. A session planned as immovable runs differently from one planned as flexible.
