That is not caution for its own sake. On a date with no second attempt, an honest plan is worth more than an ambitious one.

Packing when there is no second attempt
Pack the evening before rather than the morning of. On an immovable date the twenty minutes lost to a forgotten bag come straight out of the session.
Bring more feeds than the session should need, a full change, and anything sentimental you want in the frames. Nothing can be fetched later.
If relatives are only here for a few days, have them dressed and ready at the start. Those frames go first because they are the ones that cannot be retaken.
