What works instead is unglamorous. Fewer things promised, and promised honestly. The frames you would most regret losing taken first rather than saved for the end. A second approach agreed in advance for the weather, the mood, or the room not being ready. And the constraint said out loud at the enquiry, because a session planned as immovable runs differently from the first minute.
Short notice is normal here too. If the window is next week, ask — we would rather tell you what is genuinely open than have you assume it is already too late.

What happens if the weather is against us on an outdoor shoot?
On a date that cannot move we agree a second approach in advance and shoot that instead. It is a different set of photographs rather than a lesser one, and having decided it beforehand beats standing around waiting for a sky that is not coming.
Family are visiting on fixed dates. When should we book?
Early in the visit, not at a convenient point during it. Sessions left until the end of a trip are the ones that quietly do not happen, and there is no second visit to fall back on.
