Family Photography in Magarpatta City, Pune

Family sessions in Magarpatta City, including the ordinary fact that not everybody in a family wants to be photographed.

Not everyone wants this

In most families at least one person would rather not be in front of a camera.

They rarely say so, because a family photograph is presented as something everybody is obviously in favour of.

The result is somebody standing through a session visibly uncomfortable, which shows in every frame they appear in.

It is much better handled by asking beforehand and giving people an easy way to opt out of anything beyond the group photograph.

That is a normal accommodation rather than a concession. One frame with everybody, and nothing else for anyone who would rather not.

It also applies to what happens afterwards. Somebody may be happy to be photographed and unhappy about the photograph circulating.

Those are two separate permissions and it is worth treating them separately rather than assuming one implies the other.

It is worth asking the question privately rather than in front of the group.

Somebody asked in a room full of relatives whether they mind being photographed will say they do not mind, whatever they actually feel.

Asked quietly beforehand, the same person will answer honestly, and the session is better for it.

The same applies to sharing afterwards. Somebody may be entirely happy in the family group photograph and unhappy about it appearing anywhere else.

Treating those as separate questions costs nothing and prevents the most common quiet resentment attached to family photographs.

Almost nobody asks either question, which is why it is worth mentioning.

Getting ready

Asking beforehand

Ask quietly whether anyone would rather not be photographed beyond the group frame. It is a common answer.

Treat being photographed and being shared as two separate questions, because they are.

Agree clothes loosely as a group. A shared palette, nothing bought specially.

Planning it

What we ask

Whether anyone would rather be in the group frame only.

How many people, since that decides indoors or out.

And the ages of the oldest, because the running order follows from it.

One relative hates being photographed.

Very common. One frame with everybody and nothing else for them is a normal arrangement, not a concession.

Someone is happy to be photographed but not shared.

Those are two separate permissions and we treat them separately.

How many people can be photographed?

Tell us the number and we will suggest indoors or out.

Which areas do you cover?

Magarpatta City, Hadapsar, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, Ghorpadi, Wadgaon Sheri and Kharadi.

Can we include pets?

Yes, and tell us in advance.

Some relatives cannot stand long.

Say so at booking. Seated arrangements happen first.

Can we do this at home?

Yes, for smaller groups.

Can we ask for our photographs to stay private?

Yes, and no reason is needed. Nothing is used publicly by us without your say-so, and asking costs you nothing in what you receive.

Does asking for privacy change what we get?

No. The session and what you receive are identical. The only difference is that none of it appears anywhere else.

Can we change our minds later?

Tell us either way and we will act on it. It is much easier to agree privacy at the start than to withdraw something afterwards.

How do we book?

Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.

Ask who would rather not

It is a common answer and it is easily accommodated. It also shows in the photographs.
