Everybody sees this set
A wedding gallery is seen by every guest and shared well beyond them.
Which makes it the one set where a great many people have an interest in how they appear, and almost none of them get asked.
That is a selection question more than a shooting one. Every wedding produces frames of guests mid-sentence, mid-meal or mid-yawn, and those do not need to be in the set.
Leaving them out is not sanitising anything. It is the ordinary courtesy of not circulating an unflattering photograph of somebody who came to celebrate with you.
It matters more where the guest list and the neighbours overlap, which for many people here it does.
It is also worth telling us if anybody attending would rather not be photographed, which happens at most weddings and is easy to accommodate.
Nothing is used publicly by us without being asked.
It is worth agreeing who is allowed to share the gallery once you receive it.
A wedding gallery sent to one relative reliably reaches several hundred people, and the guests in it did not agree to that specifically.
Most families are entirely comfortable with it. The ones who are not usually only realise once it has happened.
It is also worth telling the guests that photographs will be taken, which sounds obvious and is worth a line on the invitation for the same reason it is at a children's party.
Weddings are the one occasion where everybody assumes it and nobody says it.
A line costs nothing and it gives anybody uncomfortable a way to mention it in advance.

Will unflattering candids be included?
Not as a rule. Every wedding produces them and they do not need to be in the set.

Yes, and no reason is needed. Nothing is used publicly by us without your say-so, and asking costs you nothing in what you receive.
Does asking for privacy change what we get?
No. The session and what you receive are identical. The only difference is that none of it appears anywhere else.
Can we change our minds later?
Tell us either way and we will act on it. It is much easier to agree privacy at the start than to withdraw something afterwards.
