Photographer in Mundhwa, Pune
For most of what we photograph, the difficult part is not the photography. It is getting the people involved into the same place at the same time — and that is a problem worth planning for rather than hoping around.
The reason it keeps getting postponed
The date that suits everybody is not coming.
Family photographs get postponed for years and it is almost never about the photography. Fifteen people have fifteen calendars, and the perfect date does not exist — so waiting for it produces a ten-year gap rather than a better session.
The workable version is unglamorous. Pick the date most people can make, accept that one or two cannot, and photograph the family that is actually there. That sounds like settling and it is the opposite: a photograph of thirteen people exists, and a photograph of fifteen that was never taken does not.
The same thing happens at smaller scale everywhere else. Two parents free at once during the short stretch when a newborn photographs well is a narrower window than a weekend. A team is never all in the same building on the same day. A catalogue waits for stock that is always partly in transit.
So there are two questions we ask that other people often do not. When are the people involved genuinely free — not when would you like this — and who might be late or not come at all.
The second one changes the session more than it sounds. Told that a grandparent has to leave at three, they get photographed first, in every combination they are needed for, before anything relaxed begins. Not told, the same photographs get attempted at four and do not exist.
What we photograph
Grouped by how many people have to be free at once
Every service below has a Mundhwa page of its own. The first column is the one worth reading if something has been postponed for a while.
One person is enough
These need one adult and a subject. Do not postpone them waiting for a day everybody is free — that is how they end up not happening at all.
Two diaries have to meet
Sessions that need a specific pair of people free at the same time, which is a much smaller window than it sounds and worth finding before anything else is decided.
Everybody, briefly
Occasions where the whole gathering exists for a surprisingly short time. What matters is taking the photographs that need particular people while those people are actually there.

Mundhwa and the areas around it
We photograph across Mundhwa — at home, at function venues, on location, and at the studio in Wadgaon Sheri when that is simply the easiest place for everyone to get to.
The neighbouring areas are the same short journey: Keshav Nagar, Kharadi, Koregaon Park, Ghorpadi and Viman Nagar. We take bookings across the rest of Pune, and travel beyond it for weddings.
If something has been postponed for a while, tell us what is genuinely possible rather than what would be ideal — a weekday morning, an hour rather than an afternoon, one parent rather than two. There is no fixed package: tell us what you need and you get a clear quote for that coverage.
Before you book
Getting people into one room
Overlaps, late arrivals and people who have to leave early. Anything about a particular kind of session is on that service’s own page.

We can never find a date that suits everybody.
You will not, and waiting for one is how families end up with a ten-year gap between photographs. Pick the date most people can make. A photograph of thirteen people exists; a photograph of fifteen that was never taken does not.
Somebody will probably arrive late.
Somebody usually does. Tell us who, and the running order changes so that anything needing them happens when they arrive rather than at a fixed point they may miss.
One person has to leave early.
Then they are photographed first, in every combination they are needed for, before anything relaxed begins. It is the single most useful thing you can tell us about a group booking and it takes one sentence.
Do both parents need to be at a session?
For most sessions, no. One adult is enough and a session with one parent present is a complete session rather than a compromise. It only becomes a problem when everyone assumed otherwise, which is why we ask.
Would a weekday be easier?
Often, and almost nobody considers it. Weekday mornings suit newborns and small children better than weekend ones, and everywhere is quieter. Tell us what is genuinely possible rather than what sounds conventional.
Which areas do you cover from here?
Mundhwa, Keshav Nagar, Kharadi, Koregaon Park, Ghorpadi, Wadgaon Sheri and Viman Nagar are the closest, and we take bookings across the rest of Pune. The studio is in Wadgaon Sheri.
Who has to leave early?
One sentence, and it reorders the whole session so the photographs needing that person happen while they are still there.
