Three people, one hour

A property shoot frequently needs an owner, an agent and an occupier to agree on the same hour.

Each has different constraints, and the hour that suits all three is usually not the hour with the best light.

That is a genuine trade rather than an inconvenience. A flat photographed at a workable hour beats one endlessly rescheduled towards a perfect one.

So the sequence is: agree the hour, then make sure whoever is there knows exactly what needs doing before we arrive.

It is also worth agreeing what happens if the flat is not ready when we arrive.

Photographing an unprepared property produces images that will have to be redone, which costs another round of coordinating the same three diaries.

Better to agree in advance that we wait twenty minutes, or that we reschedule, than to decide it under pressure at the door.

It is worth confirming the appointment the day before with everyone involved.

Coordination that took a week to arrange is undone by one person forgetting, and a reminder costs nothing.
