Maternity photography has more visible trends than almost any other kind.

That is a free choice at the point of deciding what to wear, and it makes more difference than almost anything else.

The other durable element is anybody else in the frame.

A maternity photograph with a partner or an older child in it is about a family rather than about a look, and it survives fashion entirely.

Those frames are also the ones most often left out because nobody thought to ask for them.
