Not the same as last time
With a first pregnancy there is time to think about it. With a second there is a toddler, and the weeks pass without the thought turning into a booking.
The consequence is predictable. Second maternity sessions are either booked very late, when the options have narrowed, or they are skipped and regretted afterwards.
What actually helps is deciding early and keeping it small. A short session at the right week beats an ambitious one that never gets scheduled.
It is also worth knowing what you would change from the first. Most parents have one thing — it ran too long, the clothes were wrong, they wished someone else had been in it.
That single sentence is more useful to us than anything else you could tell us, and it takes ten seconds.
It is also worth saying that a second maternity session does not have to resemble the first at all.
Plenty of people do something completely different the second time — indoors instead of out, alone instead of as a couple, or the reverse.
Repeating the first one exactly is an option, but it is rarely what people actually want once they think about it.
Partners are worth mentioning separately, because they are frequently in the first session and left out of the second by accident rather than choice.
It happens because the second booking is made quickly and the question never gets asked.
So we ask it. If you want them in, say so at booking and the time is planned for rather than found.
Getting ready
Decide the week now rather than later. Second pregnancies get away from people and the window is the same length as the first.
Keep it short by design. An hour that happens beats three that do not.
Tell us the one thing you would change from last time, if there was one.
Planning it
Whether you have done this before, and what you would do differently.
Whether your older child is in it, which changes the setup rather than the length.
And the due date, so the week falls out of it.

How the session itself works is covered in full on the main maternity photography page.
Then tell us what you would change. It is the most useful thing you can give us.
Ask rather than assuming. Late sessions are shot differently rather than not at all.
Many parents want that and it is worth deciding early, because it changes the setup.
Then keep it short. A brief session that actually happens is the right answer.

Bring two options. Try them on at the size you will actually be.
Yes. Tell us at booking so the time is allowed.
Tell us if you have booked with us before and we will pull up what was done, so the new work builds on it rather than repeating it.
Yes, and it is usually easier. Tell us what is coming up over the next year and we will plan it together rather than piecemeal.
Then describe what you did not like about something you have seen. It is a faster route to the right answer than trying to specify it from scratch.
You get an online gallery you can share, and tell us if prints or an album are wanted.
That is the intention and it is most of the reason people come back. Tell us at booking that you have used us before.
No. Tell us you have booked before and we will work from what was done rather than starting from scratch.
Earlier is better for anything tied to a date. For everything else, ask and we will tell you honestly what is open.
Yes, across Maharashtra and for destination weddings, with travel agreed upfront before anything is booked.
If there is one thing, tell us. If this is your first, tell us that instead.
