The real obstacle
The photography is easy. Getting eleven people in one room is not.
Ask any family why they have no recent photograph together and the answer is never about photography.
It is about diaries. An uncle who works Saturdays, grandparents who do not travel well, a cousin studying in another city, a toddler who naps at two. Every extra person makes the window smaller, and eventually the plan quietly dies.
Distance is the multiplier on all of it. A ninety-minute round trip is a small ask for one person and an unreasonable one for eleven — and it is always the oldest members of the family, the ones you most want in the frame, who find it hardest.
Keeping it to a short local trip changes what you are asking for. A ninety-minute commitment near home is something most relatives will say yes to, and a family portrait only happens if everyone says yes.

How many people can be in a family session?
Tell us the number when you enquire and we will plan for it. Large groups need a different approach to a couple with one child — more space, more time, and someone keeping the order moving.
Can we do this at our home or a relative's house instead?
Yes, and for families with elderly members that is often the sensible answer. We come to you and work with the rooms and light you have.
Grandparents cannot stand for long. Can you work around that?
Of course, and say so when you book rather than on the day. We photograph the seated arrangements first while everyone is fresh, then work outward from there.
What should everyone wear?
Nothing matching, and nothing bought specially. A loose palette rather than a uniform reads better in a photograph and looks far less dated in ten years.
Which areas do families come from?
Viman Nagar, Chandan Nagar, Lohegaon, Dhanori, Tingre Nagar and Vishrantwadi are the closest, with Kharadi and Kalyani Nagar just beyond. When you are trying to get a whole family to agree on one afternoon, the shorter journeys are the ones that get a yes.
