Every room has one good hour a day, and they are not the same hour.
Interiors are photographed by the sun, and the sun visits each room once.
A north-facing bedroom, a west-facing living room and a kitchen that only works first thing cannot be shot back to back. The day gets built around window orientation, and a project with six rooms can easily need two visits rather than one.
That is where distance quietly decides things. A second visit at seven the next morning is a routine arrangement when the property is nearby, and a serious imposition when it is not — which is how interiors end up shot in the wrong light and rescued in editing, where they never quite recover.
Styling has the same shape. Rooms are almost always adjusted between frames, and being able to come back once the sofa has arrived or the snag list is closed is what separates a finished project from a nearly finished one.

How long does an interior shoot take?
It depends on the number of rooms and which way their windows face, because that decides the order and sometimes forces a second visit. Send us a floor plan or a few phone photographs and we will tell you.
What time of day is best?
Whenever the room gets its best natural light, which is why we ask about window orientation before scheduling rather than picking a convenient hour.
Should the space be styled before you arrive?
As far as you can, yes. We make final adjustments on the day, but the underlying styling is the design work and it should be yours.
Do you photograph offices as well as homes?
Yes — workspaces, showrooms, restaurants and hospitality alongside residential. The approach differs because the audience does.
Which areas do you photograph interiors in?
