Baby Milestone Photography in Vishrantwadi, Pune

Milestone sessions in Vishrantwadi, shot as a set that is meant to be seen together rather than as separate visits.

A set, seen together

A series only works if the frames are ever seen side by side.

That sounds obvious and it is the part that most often does not happen. Three sittings across a year end up in three separate galleries and are never once viewed as a sequence.

When they are meant to be displayed together, that has to be true of the photographs themselves — same orientation, same proportion, same distance from the subject.

A landscape frame and an upright one do not hang together whatever else they have in common, and that is decided at the moment of shooting rather than afterwards.

So the useful thing to settle at the first sitting is not the theme. It is whether these are going to be seen as a group, and roughly in what arrangement.

Answer that once and every subsequent sitting simply repeats it.

Distance from the subject is the variable people forget, and it matters more than the background does.

Three sittings shot at three different distances do not read as a sequence even when everything else matches, because the child appears to change size for reasons that have nothing to do with growing.

Noting roughly where the camera stood is enough to fix it, and it takes a moment at the first sitting.

Everything else in the room can change freely.

It is also worth keeping the same person in frame across the sittings if a parent is going to appear at all.

A sequence where the child is held by a different person each time reads as a set of separate occasions rather than a progression.

Where that is not practical, keeping the parent out of all of them works better than having them in some.

Getting ready

Shooting a sequence

Decide at the first sitting whether these will be displayed together, and roughly how. It determines orientation and framing for all of them.

Keep the outfit plain. It dates faster than anything else in the frame.

Note the spot and the hour so the next sitting can repeat them.

Planning it

What we agree

Whether the set is meant to be seen together, and in what arrangement.

How many sittings you will realistically make.

And whether siblings appear in any of them.

Does it matter if they are all the same shape?

It matters a great deal if they will be seen together. Mixed orientations do not sit well as a group.

How many sittings make a series?

Two or three across the first year.

Should we book them together?

It helps. The first is then set up as the start of a set.

Which areas do you cover?

Vishrantwadi, Tingre Nagar, Dhanori, Kalas, Lohegaon, Yerawada and Viman Nagar.

Do we need a theme?

No. Plain works better and ages better.

What if we miss a stage?

Photograph the next one. A gap does not break the sequence.

Can the set be shown together?

That is the point of shooting it as one. Tell us if that is the plan.

Can you shoot for more than one use at the same time?

Yes, and it is much cheaper than a second session. Tell us the list of uses and the framing covers all of them while everything is set up.

How do we receive the photographs?

An online gallery you can share. Tell us if anything else is wanted and we will confirm what is possible.

Can we decide what to do with them later?

You can decide the use later. What cannot be decided later is whether the frame has room in it, which is why it is worth mentioning at booking.

Do you travel outside Pune?

Yes, across Maharashtra and for destination weddings, with travel agreed upfront before anything is booked.

Can you tell us what a photograph is suited to?

Yes, and it is the part we can speak to honestly — what a frame will and will not stand up to. Tell us what you have in mind.

What if we change our mind about the use?

The use can change freely. What cannot change afterwards is whether the frame has room in it, which is the only reason we ask early.

Can we see examples before booking?

Yes. Tell us what you have in mind and we will show you work that matches it rather than a general portfolio.

How do we book?

Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.

Will these be seen together?

Answer that at the first sitting and every one after it simply repeats the setup.
