Cake Smash Photography
One cake, one baby, and no expectations.
Explore Cake Smash PhotographyBirthday coverage in Vishrantwadi, shaped by what actually happens to the photographs after the party.
What happens to them after
Four hundred photographs arrive, everyone looks through them in one sitting, and that is the last time the set is seen as a whole.
That is not an argument for shooting less. It is an argument for knowing which handful will carry the day afterwards, and making sure those exist.
Usually it is four or five: the room before anyone arrives, the child mid-delight, the cake, the whole family, and one wide frame of the room full of people.
None of those happen reliably by accident. The family frame in particular has to be arranged, and at a children's party nobody arranges it unless it was decided beforehand.
Everything else — the candids, the games, the guests — happens anyway and fills the gallery.
The wide frame of a full room is the one most often missing and the hardest to take late.
It has to happen while the room is genuinely full, which is a narrower window than anyone expects — usually shortly after everyone arrives and before the food.
Left until the cake, half the guests are outside and the frame no longer shows the party that happened.
Told it matters, we take it at the right moment rather than the convenient one.
Another frame worth naming in advance is the one of the child with each parent.
Parents are usually the ones running the party, which means they are the least photographed people at it and they almost always notice afterwards.
It takes two minutes and it has to be asked for, because nobody volunteers to stop hosting and stand still.
Getting ready
Decide which four or five photographs would represent the day, and tell us. That list is the whole brief.
Tell us if there is a hard finish time, because group frames then move earlier.
Send a photograph of the room if you can.
Planning it
Which handful of photographs you want to still have in a year.
Whether there is a hard finish.
And whether photo, video or both, since they compete during the cake.

How the session itself works is covered in full on the main birthday photography page.
Very common. Deciding on four or five that represent the day is what changes it.
The room before guests, the child mid-delight, the cake, the family, and one wide frame of a full room.
Then group photographs move earlier.

Yes. Tell us which rooms and how many people.
Yes, and they produce the best candids.
Tell us at booking, since they compete during the cake.
Yes, and it is much cheaper than a second session. Tell us the list of uses and the framing covers all of them while everything is set up.
An online gallery you can share. Tell us if anything else is wanted and we will confirm what is possible.
You can decide the use later. What cannot be decided later is whether the frame has room in it, which is why it is worth mentioning at booking.
Yes, across Maharashtra and for destination weddings, with travel agreed upfront before anything is booked.
Yes, and it is the part we can speak to honestly — what a frame will and will not stand up to. Tell us what you have in mind.
The use can change freely. What cannot change afterwards is whether the frame has room in it, which is the only reason we ask early.
Yes. Tell us what you have in mind and we will show you work that matches it rather than a general portfolio.
Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.
Answer that and the rest of the coverage takes care of itself.
