Baby Photography in Wanowrie, Pune

Baby sessions in Wanowrie — the arranged frames, and some of the ordinary routine around them.

The routine is the subject

The thing you will want to remember is the routine, and nobody photographs it.

Bathtime, the feed, the particular way they are carried around the flat, the corner of the sofa where everything happens.

All of that is too ordinary to feel photograph-worthy while it is going on, and it is over within months.

A session that spends most of its time on arranged frames and a small part on the routine produces something considerably more useful than one that spends all of it on either.

It also tends to be easier, because a baby doing their normal thing is not being asked for anything.

The practical version is simply not stopping the routine for the session. Feed them when they need feeding and we photograph it.

Parents are often surprised that we want those frames. They are usually the ones they return to.

It is worth photographing where things actually happen rather than where they look best.

The changing mat on the floor, the corner of the sofa with everything piled around it, the bit of the kitchen where the bottles live.

Those are the places a household is organised around for about a year, and afterwards nobody can quite remember how it was arranged.

It takes almost no time because we are already in the room.

It is also worth including whoever else is around, doing whatever they are doing, without arranging them.

A household is a group of people getting on with things, and that is difficult to convey with everybody looking at the camera.

Getting ready

Not stopping the routine

Do not pause the routine for the session. Feed them, change them, carry them about as usual and we photograph it.

Point out the corner where everything actually happens, even if it is unremarkable.

Bring your baby at their reliably good hour.

Planning it

What we ask

What the routine actually looks like on an ordinary day.

Your baby's routine timing, so the session lands at their best hour.

And whether the parents want to be in any frames.

Baby sessions in Wanowrie

You want to photograph bathtime?

If you are comfortable with it, yes. The routine is what parents describe missing later, and it disappears within months.

Should we pause feeding for the session?

No. Feed them as usual — those are frames worth having, and a paused routine makes for a harder session anyway.

Which areas do you cover?

Wanowrie, Fatima Nagar, Ghorpadi, Hadapsar, Salunke Vihar, Wadgaon Sheri and Koregaon Park.

Home or studio?

Home for the routine frames. The studio for controlled light.

Do you photograph twins?

Yes, and it needs more time rather than different technique.

Can a grandparent bring the baby?

Yes. Tell us who is coming.

What time of day is best?

Whenever your baby is reliably pleasant.

Does this replace what we booked?

Never. Whatever you booked is the main part of the session and gets done properly. This is an addition, usually ten or fifteen minutes.

It feels strange to ask for.

It does, and it stops feeling strange about five minutes in. That reluctance is extremely common and it is not a reason to skip it.

Do we need to prepare anything for it?

No, and preparing would defeat it. The point is the thing as it actually is rather than as it would be if it had been arranged.

How do we book?

Send us the date and what you have in mind, and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need.

Do not pause the routine

It is the thing that disappears fastest and the thing parents most describe missing.
