Baby Milestone Photography in Pune

Most families book one session and then realise, looking back, that it captured a fortnight of a year that changed constantly. At three months a baby is finding their hands. At six they are sitting propped up and grabbing everything. At nine many are crawling and refusing to stay where you put them. At twelve there is a person there with opinions.

A single shoot cannot show that. A set across the year can, and its value is cumulative — the fourth session is worth more than the first because of what sits beside it.

The most common pattern is four sessions: three, six, nine and twelve months. It maps neatly onto the changes above and keeps the commitment manageable.

Some families prefer monthly, which gives a much finer sequence and suits parents who want the first year documented properly. Others do newborn, six months and first birthday and stop there. There is no correct answer — tell us what you want out of the year and we will suggest a shape for it.

If you are already partway through the year, we can pick up from wherever you are. Starting at six months is not a compromise; the sequence simply begins there.

The thing that turns four separate sessions into one body of work is consistency. We keep the approach to light and the colour treatment the same across the year, so when the images sit together as an album, a wall or a first-birthday slideshow, they look like a sequence rather than four unrelated shoots by four different people.

That is easier to promise than to do, which is why we plan the year at the start rather than treating each session as a fresh brief.

Sessions run at our studio in Wadgaon Sheri, a short trip from Viman Nagar, Kharadi and the wider east Pune area. We hold approximate windows across the year and firm each one up as it approaches, because babies do not hit milestones to a calendar.

Many families combine the final milestone with a first birthday or cake smash session. Tell us at the start if that is the plan and we will build the year towards it.

A milestone series is one of the few photography projects where the output matters as much as the sessions. Four or twelve sittings produce a lot of images, and left on a hard drive they quietly disappear.

Most families end up with a print set, an album covering the year, or a wall arrangement that shows the change in sequence. Some use the final set for the first birthday itself, as a slideshow or a display beside the cake. Tell us early what you are picturing and we will shoot with that in mind rather than deciding afterwards.
