Most of the work happens before anyone notices us. We arrive while the room is still being finished, photograph the decor, the flowers, the seating and the food table, and get the details that disappear the moment fifty people walk in.

Once guests arrive the job changes completely. Baby shower photography is mostly about staying out of the way — finding the aunt who has not seen the mum-to-be in a year, the grandmother watching from the side, the moment someone says something that makes the whole room laugh. Those are the frames families come back to, and none of them survive being staged.

We step in briefly for the group portraits, because you will want those printed and nobody organises them on their own. Then we get out of the way again.

A Godh Bharai has a shape to it — the bangles, the blessings, the filling of the lap, the elders taking their turn. Photographing it well means knowing what is coming next so the camera is already in the right place, rather than reacting a second late.

We will ask you beforehand who is performing which ritual and roughly when. That one conversation is the difference between a complete set and a set with a gap in the middle. If the ceremony is happening alongside a more contemporary baby shower, we cover both without either feeling like an afterthought.

Home baby showers are usually the warmest to photograph and the trickiest to light — smaller rooms, mixed lighting, and furniture that has to stay where it is. We work with what the room gives us rather than turning your living room into a studio.

Halls and restaurants give more space but often less natural light, so we plan around the lighting you have and bring our own where a room needs it. Tell us the venue when you enquire and we will tell you what to expect.

We cover baby showers across Pune. Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Kalyani Nagar and Chandan Nagar are a short trip from the studio, and we travel further when the venue calls for it.

A baby shower is one of the events where video earns its place. The rituals have movement and sound that a photograph cannot hold, and a short edit is the thing families actually share with relatives who could not travel.

Video can be captured alongside the stills on the same visit, which means the room only has to be worked around once. Mention it when you enquire so we can plan the extra time.

Three things make the difference between adequate coverage and a complete set: the running order, who the important people are, and what time the light is at its best in the room. None of that takes long to explain and all of it changes how we work.

If there is a relative who has travelled a long way, a grandmother who tires early, or a ritual that matters more than the rest, say so. We would far rather know in advance than find out afterwards that we missed the one frame you actually wanted.
