What to expect
Most couples have plenty of photographs taken at events and almost none taken of just the two of them. A couple session fixes that. It is an hour or two set aside for photographs that are actually about your relationship rather than the occasion you happened to be attending.
People book them for anniversaries, for a first year in a new city, before a baby arrives and changes everything, or because a parent asked for a decent framed photograph and nobody has one. None of those need justifying.
Almost every couple says the same thing in the first ten minutes: we are not good at this, we do not know what to do with our hands, we are going to look stiff. It rarely turns out that way, and the reason is that we do not ask you to pose.
Instead we direct with prompts and movement — walk this way and talk to each other, stand here and ignore me, tell them about the thing that happened last week. The photographs come out of what happens between the instructions rather than the instructions themselves. About twenty minutes in, most couples stop thinking about the camera entirely, and that is when the session properly starts.
The studio in Wadgaon Sheri gives controlled light and a clean, classic result — useful if you want portraits that will still look right in ten years, or if the weather is not cooperating.
Outdoors gives something softer and more contextual, and if there is a place in Pune that means something to the two of you, that is almost always the better choice. We will help pick the spot and the hour: the last hour or two before sunset is worth planning the whole session around.
We shoot across Pune. Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park and east Pune are all close to the studio, and we travel further when a location is worth it.
If you are engaged or planning to be, a couple session doubles as practice. Getting comfortable in front of a camera before the wedding day makes a genuine difference to how the wedding photographs turn out, and it is much easier to learn that on a quiet evening than on the day itself.
If you already know you want a full pre-wedding shoot, say so and we will plan the two together rather than treating them separately.
Coordinated rather than matching is the rule that holds up best. Two people in identical outfits read as a uniform; two people in tones that sit together read as a couple. Solid colours and simple textures photograph better than busy prints, which pull the eye away from your faces.
Bring one change if you want variety, and think about the location — what works against a studio backdrop is not always what works in a park at golden hour. If you are unsure, send us a photograph of the options and we will tell you which will work.
Our couple photography studio is in Wadgaon Sheri, on the first floor, which puts it a short drive from Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Kalyani Nagar, Chandan Nagar and the wider east Pune area.
If you are looking for a professional couple photographer near you, we take bookings across Pune — Vishrantwadi, Yerwada, Koregaon Park, Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Kondhwa, Baner, Aundh, Wakad, Hinjewadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Wagholi and Undri included — and travel beyond the city for shoots that warrant it.
Sessions run either at the studio or on location, whichever suits the shoot. There is no fixed package: tell us what you have in mind and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need, with nothing hidden in the small print.
Before you book
Straight answers on timing, cost and what you actually receive. Anything else, just ask — we would rather explain it now than have you guess.
No. Anniversaries and milestones are common reasons, but plenty of couples book simply because they have no good photographs of the two of them together.
It is the most common worry and it rarely shows. We direct with prompts and movement rather than poses, and most couples relax about twenty minutes in.
Studio for a clean, classic result; outdoors for something softer and more personal. If a place in Pune means something to you, that is usually the better choice.
One or two is plenty for a couple session. More than that and the shoot becomes about changing rather than photographs.
Not quite. A pre-wedding shoot is usually longer and built around the wedding; a couple session stands on its own. If a wedding is coming, we can plan both together.
It depends on the session length, whether we shoot in the studio or on location, how many locations you want and how many edited photographs you receive. We do not publish a fixed price because no two are the same. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back with a clear quote — nothing hidden in the small print.
No. A couple session has nothing to do with a wedding — plenty are booked for an anniversary, a milestone, or simply because there are no good photographs of the two of you together.
Around one to two hours depending on locations and outfit changes. Allow a little longer if you want more than one setting.
Coordinated rather than matching, in solid colours that sit together. Bring a second option if you want variety, and wear something you can move comfortably in.
It rarely does. The session runs on direction and movement rather than fixed poses, and most couples stop noticing the camera about twenty minutes in.
The hour or two before sunset, if the shoot is outdoors. That light is softer and more flattering than anything at midday, and it is worth planning the session around.
Yes. The studio gives controlled light and a clean, classic result, and it removes any weather risk. Some couples do part studio and part location.
Ask how they direct. A couple shoot lives or dies on whether someone tells you where to stand and what to do, rather than leaving you to invent poses. Ask what time of day they recommend — anyone suggesting the hour before sunset is thinking about light.
