Baby Milestone Photography
The first year, photographed as it actually changes.
Explore Baby Milestone PhotographyNewborn sessions suit the first few weeks. Baby photography is what comes after — from around three months, when babies are awake longer, holding their heads up, and starting to look straight down the lens.
What to expect
The newborn window is short. After about four to six weeks babies straighten out, stay awake for longer stretches and stop curling into the tucked poses that define newborn work. That is not a loss — it is the start of a different and in some ways easier kind of session.
From around three months a baby will hold their head up, track a face across the room and respond to a voice. By six months most can sit with support, and by nine months many are sitting unaided and reaching for everything. Each stage photographs differently, which is why a baby photoshoot at four months and one at nine months barely resemble each other.
If you missed the newborn window entirely, nothing is lost. Plenty of families come to us for the first time at three or four months and end up preferring the awake, eyes-open portraits to the sleeping ones.
We book baby sessions around naps, because a rested baby is a cooperative one. Late morning tends to work well, but you know your baby and we would rather plan around your routine than a slot that suits us.
The session itself is unhurried. We work in short bursts, stop for feeds and changes whenever they are needed, and let your baby reset when they have had enough. Nobody gets a good photograph out of an overtired baby, and pushing on rarely helps.
Parents are welcome in the frame and often should be. At this age a baby will look at you long before they look at a camera, so hands, laps and shoulders end up in some of the strongest photographs of the set.
Baby photography happens at our studio on the first floor in Wadgaon Sheri, where the room stays warm and the light stays consistent regardless of the weather. It is a short drive from Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Kalyani Nagar and Chandan Nagar, which matters more than it sounds when you are travelling with a small baby and a bag of everything they might need.
Bring whatever makes the session easier — extra feeds, a change of clothes, a favourite toy, and anything sentimental you would like photographed. If you have a colour or a look in mind, tell us before the day and we will plan for it.
Baby sessions are rarely just about the baby. Older siblings meeting a little brother or sister, grandparents holding a grandchild for the first time in months, a parent who is in almost no photographs because they are always the one holding the camera — all of that belongs in the set.
Older children are usually photographed early, while their patience is intact, then released to play while we carry on. Tell us who is coming when you book so we can plan the order rather than improvise it.
Our baby photography studio is in Wadgaon Sheri, on the first floor, which puts it a short drive from Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Kalyani Nagar, Chandan Nagar and the wider east Pune area.
If you are looking for a professional baby photographer near you, we take bookings across Pune — Vishrantwadi, Yerwada, Koregaon Park, Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Kondhwa, Baner, Aundh, Wakad, Hinjewadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Wagholi and Undri included — and travel beyond the city for shoots that warrant it.
Sessions run either at the studio or on location, whichever suits the shoot. There is no fixed package: tell us what you have in mind and you get a clear quote for the coverage you actually need, with nothing hidden in the small print.
Before you book
Straight answers on timing, cost and what you actually receive. Anything else, just ask — we would rather explain it now than have you guess.
Any age after the newborn window works. Three, six and nine months are popular because each marks a clear change — holding the head up, sitting with support, and sitting unaided.
Not at all. Awake, eyes-open portraits are a different kind of photograph and many parents end up preferring them.
Longer than the photography alone would suggest, because we plan around feeds, changes and settling. Tell us your routine and we will suggest a time of day.
Yes, and at this age we would encourage it — a baby will look at a parent long before they look at a camera.
Yes. Tell us when you enquire and we will plan the sessions across the months rather than one at a time.
It depends on the session length, how many setups you want, whether family portraits are included and how many edited photographs you receive. We do not publish a fixed price because no two are the same. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back with a clear quote — nothing hidden in the small print.
Bring two or three simple options in solid colours, plus a spare set in case of spills. Plain outfits keep the attention on your baby rather than on a busy pattern, and we will help you choose on the day.
Shortly after a nap and a feed, whenever that falls for your baby. A well-rested baby gives you far more usable time than a specific hour on the clock does.
Themed setups and props feature in a lot of our baby work. Tell us the look or colours you have in mind when you book and the set is planned around it rather than improvised on the day.
Yes, and it is worth doing while everyone is together. Family frames are shot early in the session while your baby is at their most settled.
Pick someone who plans around naps and feeds rather than a fixed hour, and who works in short bursts. Ask what happens if your baby is unsettled on the day — a studio that says the session simply moves is telling you it is built around babies rather than a schedule.
