Photograph it properly once, because there is no second chance

A project exists in its finished state for a short time and then it belongs to whoever uses it. The photographs are the only permanent record of what you actually built.

They are also the asset with the longest working life of anything the project produces. Drawings get superseded, the client relationship moves on, the space gets rearranged — and the photographs are still winning you work in five years.

Which is a reasonable argument for doing it once, thoroughly, rather than twice, cheaply.

One thorough visit, planned so nothing is missed

The failure mode on project photography is not a bad photograph. It is discovering three months later that the one space the client keeps asking about was never shot, and the space no longer exists in that condition.

So the visit is planned from a list agreed in advance, covering every space, the transitions between them, the details that carry the work, and the exterior where it is relevant. We would rather spend an extra hour on site than have you calling us back.

Send drawings or a plan beforehand if you have them. Nothing exposes a gap in a shot list faster than a floor plan.

Residential and commercial, one approach

The sectors differ less than people expect. A home wants warmth and a fit-out wants precision, but the underlying job is the same: document the work so the decisions in it stay legible to somebody who was not there.

So the same approach applies across both, which matters if your practice works in both. A portfolio that reads consistently across sectors looks like a practice with a point of view. One that changes character between project types looks like several different practices.

Files kept, and coming back for a different crop

Requirements change after delivery. An awards entry wants a portrait crop of an image delivered as a landscape. A magazine wants it larger. A new website wants a wide banner from a frame that was never framed as one.

Files are archived so you can come back for a different crop or format rather than being limited to the versions delivered on the day. Ask when you need something and it can be re-cut from the original.

Awards entries and how many images to expect

Images can be used for awards entries, and it is worth telling us if that is the plan, because submissions have requirements around resolution, aspect ratio and whether people may appear.

On quantity: the honest answer is that it depends on the size and complexity of the project rather than on a number we can publish in advance. A single-room refurbishment and a completed hotel are not the same brief. Tell us the scope and we will agree an expected set with you before the shoot rather than leaving it to be argued about afterwards.

Before you book

Completed projects, answered

Straight answers on scope, access and what you actually receive. Anything else, just ask — we would rather explain it now than have you guess.

How many images do we get?

It depends on the size of the project. We agree a target before the shoot.

Do you keep the files?

Yes, and we can re-supply in a different format if you need one later.

Can we use them for awards entries?

Yes, subject to the usage agreed upfront.

What does completed projects photography cost in Pune?

It depends on the size of the completed project, how many frames you need for the portfolio, and whether you want a separate set for social media. We do not publish a fixed price because no two are the same. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back with a clear quote — nothing hidden in the small print.

Why photograph a completed project properly once?

Because a project exists in its finished state briefly and then belongs to whoever uses it. The photographs are the only permanent record, and they are still winning work in five years when the drawings are superseded.

Do you keep the files afterwards?

Yes, archived, so you can come back for a different crop or format later rather than being limited to the versions delivered on the day.

Can we use the images for awards entries?

Yes, and it helps to say so beforehand. Submissions have requirements around resolution, aspect ratio and whether people may appear, all easier to shoot for than to retrofit.

Do you cover both residential and commercial projects?

Yes, with the same approach. A home wants warmth and a fit-out wants precision, but the underlying job is identical — document the work so the decisions stay legible to somebody who was not there.

What should we send before the shoot?

Drawings or a plan if you have them, and a list of the spaces that matter most. Nothing exposes a gap in a shot list faster than a floor plan.

Can we order a different crop after delivery?

Yes. Files are archived so an awards entry needing a portrait crop, or a new website needing a wide banner, can be re-cut from the original rather than limited to what was delivered.

How do I choose a completed project photographer in Pune?

Ask when they want to shoot relative to handover. The window between finishing and occupation is short and it is when a space photographs best. Ask whether they will document the whole project or only the parts that photograph easily.
