Destination Photography in Pune

The photography at a destination shoot is the easy part. The planning around it is the job: working out what light your location gets and when, how long it takes to move between the places you want to shoot, and what can honestly be covered in the days available.

Most disappointing destination sets come from over-scheduling. Four locations in a day sounds ambitious and produces four rushed sets. We will tell you when a plan is too full, before you have committed to it.

A destination shoot is also the one job where the fallback plan matters. Weather at a hill station or a coastal venue can remove your best location an hour before you were due to use it, so we agree a second option in advance rather than improvising one.

The location decides the schedule rather than the other way round. A beach and a hill station give their best light at different hours, and a venue with a west-facing courtyard is a different shoot at four in the afternoon than at six.

Once we know where you are going, we work out the usable windows and build the running order backwards from them. That is planning you only get to do in advance — nobody solves it on the morning.

If the trip is short, we would rather do one location properly at the right hour than three at whatever hour they happen to fall. That is the recommendation most couples push back on and then agree with afterwards.

Travel and accommodation are agreed with you in writing before anything is booked. There is no version of this where a cost appears on an invoice afterwards that was not discussed first.

Destination work splits roughly into two. A destination wedding is multi-day coverage with functions, families and a schedule that has to be honoured. A destination couple or pre-wedding shoot is far freer — two people, a location, and enough time to use it properly.

The second is often more achievable than couples expect, because the shoot travels with you rather than requiring a production built around it.

Some locations require permission to photograph, some charge for it, and some quietly do not allow it at all. Resorts, heritage sites and public monuments each have their own rules, and they are worth checking before you build a plan around them.

Tell us your shortlist early and we will raise anything that looks like it needs clearing. It is a much smaller problem in advance than it is at the gate on the day.

Drone footage has its own rules, and they are stricter near airports, military installations and some heritage sites. If you want aerials, raise it at the planning stage so we can establish whether the location allows them at all.
